Britain's first all-electric bus town

Local authorities can now apply to become the UK’s first all-electric bus town, setting the ‘gold-standard’ in environmentally friendly public transport, the Department for Transport has announced.

The winning area will receive up to £50 million in Government funding to help pay for a brand-new fleet of electric buses, reducing emissions and cleaning up the air in their community. A town with 200 electric buses could save around 7,400 tonnes of CO2 each year, the equivalent to taking 3,700 diesel cars off the road.

The BYD ADL partnership has successfully delivered more electric buses to UK operators than any other company. We look forward to supporting local authorities and their partner operators in the preparation their bids.

Ensure your bid is a compelling one by contacting Britain’s leading bus manufacturer today to find out how the electric buses built in Britain by the market-leading BYD ADL partnership can help you lead the charge with zero emissions, reduced operating costs and quiet comfort.

Expressions of interest must be submitted to the Department for Transport by 4th June 2020.
